An exhibition on Age(ing), Grey is the New Pink, opened at the Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt, Germany, in September.

The exhibition questioned: Who is old – where and when? Can we meet the ‘challenge of ageing’ optimistically? And what untapped potential lies slumbering in the process of aging?

Grey is the New Pink presented diverse ideas and models of ‘age(ing)’ from the perspective of cultural studies and the visual arts, as well as personal and individual experience. Like fragments in a lifetime’s memories, the exhibition compiled an anthology of ageing of individual ways of dealing with areas such as lifestyle, love and sexuality, transmission of knowledge, longevity, illness, health, and death.

In the exhibition Jaco Hoffman explored the ageing process in Africa with Mr Osborne Macharia, a photographer from Kenya. For more information, see the catalogue published by KerberVerlag Publishers.
